Last fall, Andrea and Sarah invited me into their home for a sweet cooking session where we all enjoyed the incredible meal — together. I put my camera down for dinner, engaged in wonderful conversation, and bonded with this adorable pair. I’ll forever treasure that day.
Fast forward to the last day of September, I once again met Andrea and Sarah at their home. They were joined by three of their closest loved ones; Sarah’s mom helped with makeup and her sister provided great wedding and style advice, while Andrea’s best friend brought the laughter. A perfectly awesome trio, indeed.
While getting ready together, one of my favorite moments happened: as Sarah tied Andrea’s bow tie, Andrea looked at Sarah with doting eyes; a look so tender no words were needed. She’d found her person and all was right in the world.
Soon after, under a tree next to the lake in the park, another cherished moment happened: they read their vows to one another, privately. Laughs, tears, hugs, and kisses ensued as they shared this most beautiful time together. Sarah even promised she’d visit the Harry Potter and Star Wars Lands at Disneyworld, so obviously Andrea hit the jackpot.
Back at The Kitchen, in their own neighborhood, they had an intimate ceremony with the best first kiss — complete with a pick up and twirl. The excitement and joy in this celebration, followed by the expressions post-recessional, say more than these words ever could.
For the reception, these food lovers spoiled their guests with a beautiful dinner, eight delicious cakes, and a delightful evening of connection. And as this story wraps, it also comes full circle: I joined Andrea and Sarah again for dinner that night, as these amazing friends of mine seated me at the head table. I teared up with honor, and sat in gratitude for this couple and the opportunity to do this important work.
Hugs and love!
